It’s Blog-Wise Wednesday - the day I link to a guest post that I believe will challenge you in a good way.
We’re growing wise together.
This week’s guest post comes from a web friend of mine. I met Richard Glenn online and I’ve been praying for him for many months. He recently underwent a successful kidney transplant! Richard is a fired up man of faith! I love that! In his featured post, John 2:6-8, he asks us to think about our responsibility when it comes to present day miracles.
You can find Richard’s blog at http://truthfromthehip.wordpress.com/.
He’s got great polls going all the time!
About Richard:
Richard Glenn is a licensed and ordained minister who was born in Omaha, Nebraska. Richard embraced a heart’s desire for the Lord for as long as he can remember and at the age of ten went forward at a Billy Graham crusade in Omaha and personally received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. At the age of 18, Richard made a serious commitment to serve Jesus. In the years since, Richard has planted churches, developed and produced Christian radio programming, and served as a Senior Pastor. Richard has a passionate desire to see unity come back into the church, regardless of denominational affiliation, and firmly believes this is not only possible but inevitable as we come ever closer to the return of our King.
Have you ever witnessed a miracle?
What does God Friendship look Like?
Monday, July 19th, 2010
That scripture where Jesus says I no longer call you servants… now I call you friends has always sidelined me a little bit. Jesus, friending me? Jesus, the Son of God – describing me as His friend? It seems preposterous doesn’t it?
But Jesus said it and I know He meant it. It’s just that there’s something in me that feels really weird about it sometimes. I mean-
we’re talking about God here.
I admit, most times I do feel comfortable, and I’m good with the close association. But other times I feel down right heretical thinking of Him this way. Do you? Does the friend message seem a little sacriligious – like you’re being a little too familiar?
I bring this up because I watched this video, and it made me stop and think about ”friendship” from Jesus’ perspective. Do you think the video gets it right?

Monday, July 19th, 2010Healing Prayer for Jimmy
Sunday, July 18th, 2010A member of our community has requested prayer for her husband. He will begin radiation treatments tomorrow for a rare head cancer he has battled off and on for over ten years. I’ve listed a few scriptures I plan to declare over him. Please pray. Our voices have power – and avail much!
Psalm 91:16
With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.
Psalm 103:3
Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits–who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.
Psalm 107:20
He sent forth his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave.
Psalm 118:17
I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the LORD has done.
Isaiah 53:4-5
Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.
Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Mark 16:17-18
And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”
III John 2
Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.
Laying My Pen Down
Saturday, July 17th, 2010This past week was hard in a number of ways. We’ve got some problems in our family that aren’t easy to solve. I’ve heard it said – small kids/small problems… big kids/big problems. Right now I could wear the T-shirt . What’s so difficult for me is being in an unfamiliar new role in life – no longer mommy…
now just mom. As the parent of adult children, I am having to ask the Holy Spirit to adjust my way of thinking. I need Him to show me how to do life with my kids now that I have handed them the pen to write the rest of their life story. It’s a challenging shift. I’ve had that pen in my hand for 21 years.
Relationships in life can bring pain and this week I’ve wrestled with my share of it. Jesus was right when He said “in this world you WILL have tribulation“. Not if… He said when. The thing is, I have to remember what He said next. Take courage, I have overcome the world“. I can’t tell you what He meant entirely, but I can say this: He overcomes anything in me that I bring Him to work on. Pain, disappointment, frustrations, unforgiveness, doubt… I haven’t found a thing He hasn’t been willing to roll up His Spirit sleeves and fix. Yes, it’s a process, but I’m convinced that’s because He likes us so much and it’s the only way He gets us to hang around a lot. You know how kids are – fix what’s wrong and they’re gone again till they need something else.
Well, that’s been my little week recap of sorts. I wouldn’t want to do the days over, but at the same time God’s been ever present. My helper. In my time of need.
This short video link below explains a lot. It’s worth watching. I’ve had it stored for a while and don’t remember where it came from. I honor the person who made it – thank you for helping me explain God in my life… a little better.
Let me know what you think.
Would you pray for us?

Wednesday, July 14th, 2010It’s Blog-Wise Wednesday - the day I link to a guest post that I believe will challenge you in a good way.
We’re growing wise together.
Ministry Lesson #6 by Wes Howard is this week’s guest post. Wes can be found at amarkedchange.com. If you’re a baseball fan, you’ll find this post particularly fascinating. If not, you’ll still be amazed. Wes captures a moment when “choice” looms large and grace raises it’s hand to play. If we’ll let it, this post will deliver a home run to the heart.
What’s the Holy Spirit saying to you?
Tell us.
In Wes’ own words:
I am 28 years old and I live in the great city known as Nashvegas, TN. I graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Mass Communication. So I can now communicate massively and have a piece of paper to prove it. I work at Cross Point Community Church as an assistant to the one and only, Pete Wilson. Yes, I know, he’s got great hair. Most importantly, I am a stumbling, bumbling follower of Christ and am learning daily how to love and be loved.
