Some time ago I was listening to the Good Morning America show as I was packing to travel to speak in Saledo, TX. While pulling out clothes, shoes and accessories for the two day women’s event, I heard Diane Sawyer mention the free online social network called Twitter. If you haven’t started tweeting yet, twitter is a communication tool that lets you tell people what you are up to at any given moment of the day via cell phone, instant messenger, or the Web. The day I was packing, Diane said that the show hosts were going to learn how to use twitter during that week. Twitterers “tweet” about everything from what they had for lunch to political and religious views. As I listened and packed that morning, a sigh escaped my lips. I thought to myself, all these new social network platforms stress me out! Can’t technology take a breather? When will it stop?
As soon as those thoughts floated through my brain, I heard God speak. “I like twitter, he said”. “You do”, I answered, incredulous? “Yes”, he said. “In fact I tweet to you all the time”!
It’s funny to think about God tweeting to us. But it’s true. He does – all the time. In fact, he was tweeting when he told me he liked twitter! We might think the twitter experience is a new and different concept, but it’s as old as the human race. God talks to all of us and he always has. And he loves getting Retweets (say the same thing responses). No one’s more interested in what you’re doing. So tweet on – but broaden your twittersphere. God’s a tweeter too. Are you following?
P.S. – It’s funny to think a couple years ago I was fighting technology and now I’m here hosting a community that thrives on it. All I can say is God’s in charge, and He has a sense of humor. Follow me on twitter @collfosh - come tweet with me!

Tweet! Tweet! I follow. God does tweet. One night He told me I was delightful. I thought…That’s not God. He said it again and that time I was impressed He was smiling He blessed me with quite the dialogue after I retreated His first words…It made my day.:)
Hi Colleen,
I’m quite a bit behind you with regard to technology, but joyfully taking baby steps to increasing my knowledge as I use it. I’m already following you on twitter so realize that you can link your facebook posts with your twitter tweets, but I’ve been unsuccessful at this point to doing that. Does either yourself or Lisa have any suggestions or places I can find a tutorial on how to do that?
I found your note to be funny as I also had no interest in all this twitter and FB stuff until our recent HS reunion and was told about the FB site that was set up for the class members. Since, I have learned so much about a wide variety of things and reconnected with some great people… you being one of them. So ‘THANK YOU GOD’ for providing this technology that puts an array of knowledge and great people at my fingertips! Thank for Colleen for your dedicated work, God Bless you.
I am enjoying God’s sense of humor also. I remember you telling me what God said to you that day, that He liked Twitter. Once again it affirms to me that maybe God isn’t so mad at the world…that He chooses to work in us and through us at all means that He cares infinitely more about us than we could ever fathom. Just makes me shake my head in wonder. Makes me reflective…just pondering His nature. Hard not to love Him then.

This site looks promising to answer your questions…since I don’t tweet and really don’t do facebook very much, I have never done it personally. Check it out and let me know if it works for you!
